Serdar Berdimuhamedow, also special envoy of Turkmen president, arrived in Iran at the head of a high-ranking delegation for talks with the top Iranian officials.
In the meeting, the two sides exchanged viewpoints on bilateral cooperation in economic, commercial, energy, transportation and transit fields.
Meanwhile, since the president of Turkmenistan will visit the Islamic Republic of Iran in the near future in the meeting the documents which are going to be signed during that state visit were reviwed and the final points were added to them.
Also talks on regional developments, including the prevailing status in Afghanistan were the other axes of the talks between the Iranian foreign minister and the Turkmen vice president, including the two sides emphasis on the need for establishment of a comprehensive and all-encompassing government in Afghanistan.
The Vice President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedow in the meeting stressed the significance of bilateral relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran and said that the role of the Iran-Turkmenistan Joint Economic Commission is quite important in that respect.
He said that there are quite favorable capacities for the two countries’ broader cooperation, especially in transportations, technical and engineering services, electrical engineering, oil and gas fields.
The two sides in the meeting referred to the high volume of historical and cultural commonalities between the two countries in the meeting and also surveyed ways for cooperation between the two countries’ neighboring provinces as an important way for having broader economic and cultural relations.
In the meeting in the presence of Turkmenistan Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov, the Turkmen top diplomat presented explanations on bilateral cooperation on joint projects and programs.
