During the meeting, officials focused on cooperation between the two countries and explored ways of boosting naval security.
The Omani delegation was headed by Ali Bin Seif al-Muqbeli, the Omani Coast Guards Commander, and the Iranian delegation by his Iranian Deputy Coasts Guard Commander Hassan Kargar.
The Iranian and Omani coast guards hold joint military war games every year to boost naval security of the two countries.
In 2019, a ranking Iranian military delegation visited Oman during which a military cooperation memorandum of understanding (MOU) was signed.
